The University of Lagos has declared a three days mourning period in honour of Late VC, Professor Babatunde Sofoluwe which starts from Monday 14th May- 16th May, 2012. During this time all lectures, meetings and campus activities will not hold.
The VC suffered a heart attack while in his office and managed to alert his doctor who came to his rescue.However he didn't survive the second attack. He was diagnosed with Myocardinal infarction- a situation where a blood cloth stops blood from flowing to the heart.
A burial committee has been set up and is headed by the DVC(Academic & Research) Prof. Babajide Alo.
